The recent approval marks a significant milestone for the $400 million project, propelling it forward. Back in November, the Kenosha City Council in Wisconsin gave the green light to a proposal by the Menominee Tribe and Hard Rock International for a gaming and entertainment resort. The project, slated to occupy approximately 60 acres of land along County Highway K, west of Interstate 94, is gaining momentum following a favorable vote from the Kenosha Common Council.

During a meeting this week, the majority of council members voted in favor of the Hard Rock’s planned casino and entertainment resort, with only six members dissenting. This advancement represents another crucial step towards realizing the ambitious casino project, which carries an estimated cost of nearly $400 million. Now, the proposal will move forward for consideration by the Kenosha County Board, scheduled to convene later this month on January 16.

The Hard Rock Casino in Kenosha is poised to generate employment opportunities, both during its construction phase and afterward. The city stands to benefit from increased tax revenue, and the casino is anticipated to draw tourists, providing a positive impact on local businesses.

Gena Kakkak, chair of the Menominee Tribe, expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Kenosha City Council, recognizing the numerous benefits the Hard Rock Casino will bring to the community. She also commended Mayor John Antaramian for his support of the proposal. The project is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs and stimulate the local economy.

With an estimated price tag of $360 million, the project is set to create temporary employment opportunities during its 18-month construction phase, in addition to the permanent jobs. It’s anticipated to attract over 2.4 million visitors annually, with a significant portion hailing from other states.

Featuring a Hard Rock Hotel with 150 rooms, the project will boast an expansive gaming floor with 50 table games and 1,500 slot machines. Visitors can also look forward to a Hard Rock live entertainment venue, along with a variety of dining, shopping, and nightlife options.
