Sky Racing World, a leading subsidiary of Tabcorp, has announced its plans to provide live broadcasts of the Meydan Racecourse in North America. Scheduled to commence on January 12, 2024, the extensive coverage will span the entirety of the Meydan racing schedule, featuring significant occasions including the Super Saturday race on March 2 and the eagerly awaited Dubai World Cup, commencing on March 30.

In addition to showcasing the excitement from Meydan, Sky Racing World will continue to feature live broadcasts of horseracing events from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, offering a diverse array of premium equestrian content to North American viewers.

David Haslett, CEO and President of Sky Racing World, expressed enthusiasm about the new venture, stating, “We are excited to bring the magic of Meydan Racecourse to North American viewers. The Dubai World Cup is a highlight in the global racing calendar, and we are proud to offer horse racing enthusiasts across North America an exclusive front-row seat to witness this prestigious event and all the exciting races at Meydan.”

The Dubai World Cup was established in 1996 and has been hosted yearly on the last Saturday of March since then. Boasting a staggering purse of $12 million, it stands as one of the world’s richest horse races. This year’s edition will see the Breeders’ Cup Classic champion, White Abbario, challenge the defending champion, Japanese racehorse Ushba Tesoro. Ushba Tesoro, despite making its international debut in the 2023 Dubai World Cup, emerged victorious, becoming the first Japanese horse to claim victory in the race since Victoire Pisa in 2011.

Sky Racing World’s extensive portfolio already includes live racing rights from prominent locations such as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, Japan (NAR), Malaysia, and Argentina. The company successfully broadcasts these races across America and the Caribbean, providing a global audience with high-quality equestrian entertainment.

Earlier this year, Sky Racing World expanded its portfolio by incorporating Hipodromo Chile racing into its offerings, further solidifying its position as a key player in the international horse racing broadcasting arena.
