Playtech’s recent iPoker tournament series, the Elite Series Winter Edition, has made history as the largest event ever hosted on the iPoker network. Running from December 1, 2023, to January 16, 2024, the series not only surpassed the guaranteed €7m ($7.6m) total but also amassed an impressive total prize pool of nearly €10m, featuring over 800 tournaments in various formats.
The Elite Series Winter Edition offered daily tournaments with buy-ins ranging from €3 to €1,000, comprising a total of 93 events during the specified period. Notably, each tournament guaranteed a minimum of €20,000.
In a notable addition to the event, the Mystery Bounty format was introduced alongside the regular tournament setups, contributing an impressive €650,000 to the overall series guarantees.
Marat Koss, Playtech’s VP of Interactive Gaming, expressed satisfaction with the results, stating, “We are thrilled with the results delivered in our latest iPoker Elite Series Winter Edition, which was the largest and most successful series in iPoker Network history; surpassing the guaranteed prizes in multiple tournaments across the series. Engaging a global audience, our tournament series saw participation from over 33,000 players representing 92 countries.”
Koss highlighted the event as a milestone in Playtech’s strategic investments toward expanding tournament series on the iPoker network. He attributed the success to the expertise of the team and the unwavering support from valued partners.
Earlier this month, Playtech collaborated with SIS to integrate a new esports betting product, further extending the existing partnership between the two companies. This move reinforces Playtech’s commitment to innovation and continuous growth in the gaming and betting industry.
