Catena Media, a prominent affiliate in the online sports betting industry, has entered Vermont’s emerging online sports betting scene as the state officially opens its doors to licensed sports betting. The Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery granted approval to three operators—DraftKings, Fanatics, and FanDuel—to go live on January 11, with Catena Media holding affiliation agreements with both FanDuel and DraftKings.

To mark the launch, Catena Media is introducing Vermont-themed content across all its national brands. Collaborating with media partners such as NJ and TheSportingNews, the platform aims to offer comprehensive coverage to coincide with Vermont’s entry into the online sports betting arena.

Vermont, characterized by its modest size with an adult population of approximately 500,000, represents the most recent addition to the New England states that have embraced online sports betting. Serving as the inaugural market launch in North America for 2024, it sets the stage for North Carolina to follow suit in the forthcoming months.

Ryan Harper, the Vice President for North America at Catena Media, conveyed a positive outlook on the undertaking, affirming, “Initial interest from both the industry and sports bettors in Vermont is strong. Vermonters have enjoyed online daily fantasy sports products and horse-race wagering so are no strangers to the online market.”

Through this expansion, Vermont joins Catena Media’s growing operational presence in North America, contributing to a total footprint that spans across more than 28 U.S. states and Canadian provinces. This strategic move aligns with Catena Media’s recent divestment of €19.8 million in Italian assets at the close of 2023, underscoring the company’s focused approach on regulated markets in the Americas. Catena Media remains committed to establishing itself as a pivotal player in the continually evolving realm of online sports betting across North America.
