The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), also known as the Dutch Gaming Authority, has provided stakeholders with its revised Responsible Gaming Policy Rules for their evaluation and input.
Following the KSA’s September report on the duty of care in the gaming industry, the Dutch Gaming Authority has now submitted a comprehensive set of updated Responsible Gaming Policy Rules for stakeholder consideration.
The proposed changes include a more efficient monitoring system for online gaming to promptly identify signs of addictive behavior within an hour. Additionally, providers must contact players depositing over €700 ($770) monthly for proof of earnings, with a reduced limit of €300 for those aged 18-24.
These stricter regulations aim to establish a duty of care and provide clearer guidance on advertising in the Netherlands’ online gambling sector. Stakeholders have until February 1, 2024, to respond, and if approved, the new rules will be published in the Government Gazette on April 1, 2024.
This initiative follows the KSA’s scrutiny of Holland Casino and the fining of GoldWin for operating without a license, reinforcing a commitment to industry compliance.
