Following the triumphant culmination of the 2024 Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Darts Championship, notably sponsored by Paddy Power and culminating in an electrifying final between Luke Humphries and Luke Littler, Premier League Darts announces a new sponsorship.
BetMGM, already prominent in major football partnerships with clubs like Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Newcastle United, has secured a significant agreement with the PDC for the 2024 Premier League Darts season.
The BetMGM Premier League, scheduled from February to May, will feature eight players competing for a substantial £1 million ($1.3 million) prize pool. The top four players from the final league table will advance to the season-ending playoffs.
PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter expressed enthusiasm about the extensive reach of the Premier League, stating, “The Premier League will reach a huge live audience and a massive global television audience across four months, and we’re delighted to welcome BetMGM as our new title sponsor.”
Porter continued, “This year marks the 20th staging of the Premier League, and it is already the most eagerly-awaited, with the standard of entertainment across PDC events in the past 12 months having continued to rise. As we enter the third year of the eight-player, nightly knockout format, we’re excited about working alongside BetMGM to promote such a wide-reaching event.”
Sam Behar, UK Director of BetMGM, conveyed excitement about the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to be partnering with such an exciting and entertaining event as Premier League Darts and look forward to an action-packed 2024 for both BetMGM and the PDC.”
