Ancient Treasures in Egyptian Heroes Slot
The Net Entertainment slots title Egyptian Heroes is another game set in the ancient river kingdom, but this one does not feature ruins and tomb-robbing explorers. Instead, it takes the player back to a time when the Egyptian empire flourished, and with the usual application of colour and creativity that NetEnt puts into its artwork, shows the player temples of shiny dressed stone with fearsome living god statues.
Egyptian Heroes has five reels displaying three rows, and a total of 20 pay lines. Coin denominations and coin levels per line can both be adjusted, as can the number of pay lines. Players can bet between 1 and 500 coins per line, but they are advised to bet all 20 pay lines, even if they have to settle for a lower bet per line. This is because of the Golden Bet Line feature. On any spin, any one of the 20 pay lines can be designated as golden, and as long as the player has bet on that line, any wins that occur receive an immediate multiplier of between X2 and X5, depending on which line becomes golden.
Poker Symbols and Scary Gods
The poker symbols crop up once more in Egyptian Heroes, fashioned as sandstone letters dressed with metal accents, in a style closer to Stargate than anything else. Egyptian Heroes uses the card values 10 to A, with five As winning the top prize in this section: 125 coins. All poker-symbol combinations require three of a kind or better to win.
Egyptian Heroes’ five high-value symbols are all rendered as living statues of Egyptian gods wielding their powers in awe-inspiring tableaux. All of these symbols pay prizes for two, three, four or five matches on a pay line, as long as the sequence is unbroken from Reel 1. There’s a green crocodile god, who pays from 2 to 500 coins. The red-faced humanoid god of war wins a top prize of 1,000 coins, the purple scarab goddess has a top prize of 1,500, and five of the blue cat goddess symbols will net 2,000 coins. The golden falcon god is the top symbol, paying 8, 40, 200 or 4,000 coins for two, three, four or five matches.
Expanding Wild for More Winning Combos
A sunlit pyramid, still under construction, serves as the Egyptian Heroes Wild. It has the standard role of substituting for any of the 10 ordinary symbols to complete more winning combinations, but does not pay any bonus wins for combinations with itself, as many other slot Wilds do.
However, the Egyptian Heroes Wild makes up for this by expanding to cover all three windows on the reel whenever it lands in a winning combination, as long as the Wild is on Reels 2, 3 or 4. This allows the expanded Wild to substitute for more symbols and potentially create more wins.
Free Spins Bring a Sticky Expanded Wild
A golden pharaoh’s death mask, flanked by blue-flamed torches, is the Egyptian Heroes Scatter. Three, four or five Scatters in any position on the reels will trigger 10, 15 or 20 free spins, respectively.
During a free spins round, the expanding Wilds are still available on Reels 2 and 4, if a Wild ends up as part of a winning combo. However, a sticky expanding Wild covers the whole of Reel 3 for the entire duration of the free spins, which further boosts the winning potential of the round. The bonus can also be re-triggered by another three or more Scatters during the free spins round.
